Mission Statement

The KMI mission is to engineer, design and build paint and porcelain enamel finishing systems at a reasonable cost and within the project schedule. These systems must be reliable, environmentally friendly, require low maintenance and low operating cost and produce high quality finishes. Our commitment to customers doesn’t end with the system. We continue relationships with ongoing technical support and assistance after start up. We achieve customer satisfaction so consistently that our customers insist on becoming repeat customers!

This mission and our values haved served us well. Since 1982, KMI has earned an excellent reputation helping business grow steadily through repeat customers and referrals.

Strengths

KMI Systems has long been recognized as a leader in the porcelain-enamel finishing industry. KMI enjoys an excellent reputation providing well designed, innovative porcelain coating equipment and furnaces. Though less known in the paint finishing industry, they have also been responsible for the design and construction of various paint finishing systems.

KMI’s founders first became involved in porcelain (inorganic) finishing systems in the mid 1960’s when they were an integral part of Ferro Corporation’s finishing systems division’s team. For over 35 years, they have been continuously setting industry trends in engineering, quality and cost savings.

Experience in paint (organic) finishing systems dates back to the early 1970’s. KMI’s engineers became involved with the design and development of E-Coating (the electrodeposition of water based paints) for the appliance industry. In the 1980’s, they also were instrumental in the design and development of Powder Paint systems for the appliance industry.

KMI excels at determining and fabricating the type of finishing system that best fits customers’ needs . . . to be competitive and stand out in his market place.

KMI Systems offers customers experienced project teams consisting of sales personnel, engineers, system designers, installation, maintenance and start up personnel who are all committed to you.

KMI Systems has completed numerous projects of various sizes and has the organization, leadership and design knowledge to carry out finishing equipment projects from thousands up to millions of dollars.

Engineering Expertise and Services

Turnkey Systems

KMI Systems has the resources and background to provide conceptual design, detailed engineering, fabrication, installation, and start up services for your project. Project management teams bring years of quality experience to the table and has proven to be a dependable systems house capable of providing turnkey finishing systems within agreed schedules and costs.

Retrofitting and Reengineering of Existing Systems

KMI Systems has projects ranging from replacement of corroded or damaged sections of machines and lengthening of equipment to accommodate higher line speeds to modification and updating of the system to allow conversion to better or new processes.

Audits, Engineering Studies and Consulting Services

Professional engineering and technical services offered by KMI Systems can often save the customer significant dollars in the design, fabrication, installation, and start up phases as well as in the operation of their finishing system. Enlisting KMI’s engineering assistance also allows compression of project schedules that otherwise would not be possible.

KMI Systems is a company of broad perspective with not only knowledge of application systems, pretreatment machines, curing and controls, but also material handling and a dozen related specialties.

KMI’s engineering staff utilizes advanced computer programs that utilize judgment and assure accuracy while performing the necessary system calculations. Also, our drafting department is equipped with modern CAD equipment to create drawings that can quickly be pressed into service.
